Steeped in architectural heritage and natural treasures, the Verdon Regional Nature Reserve is a must for lovers of nature and exceptional landscapes. Located between Castellane and Moustiers-Sainte-Marie, this popular destination is also a fabulous playground for sporting escapades in Europe’s largest canyon. Just take your pick: water sports, rock climbing, mountain biking or paragliding… The pure, tranquil waters of Sainte Croix lake and views from the medieval villages of Bauduen, Aiguines and Les Salles-sur-Verdon, perched in the surrounding hills, are truly a sight to behold.

These little corners of paradise, each with their own special character, promise to enchant. Family walks, exotic sandy beaches, hikes in wild scenery and secretive little coves… Porquerolles, Port-Cros and Le Levant islands – nicknamed the “Golden Islands” – are genuine jewels of the Mediterranean.

ULTIMATE PROVENCE, A WINE ESTATE AT THE HEART OF A NATURE RESERVE

Characterized by its shallow soil set on a slab of impermeable sandstone, Ultimate Provence lies at the heart of a nature reserve amid a large forest of holm oaks, on a terroir nourished with a rich mulch of oak leaves and vine shoots. Its sun-drenched hillsides are planted with Cinsault grapes. Down below lies a beautiful plot of Rolle grapes, renowned for their fruity notes of citrus and pear. The “Grande Pièce” – a magnificent plot on the plateau – , is totally dedicated to Syrah grapes, offering up wines with heady aromas of violets and red and black fruit.

Finally, young white and black Grenache grapes thrive on the “Perrono” plot – named after the family who planted the first vines on the property in the mid-20th century –, alongside Syrah vines. Ultimate Provence truly is a unique terroir.
